Real Life Greek Fact:

Question: What is continuous open bidding?! (NPH Practice)

Answer: C.OB or Continuous Open Bidding is a when an organization accepts applications in a non-formal way. Contrary to RUSH Week, where their are a set order of events and times with a particular set of instructions. C.O.B is a time where any interested person can apply for membership. It is a non-formal way for all interested to have a very relaxed look at the organization. Hence, notifications such as:

Last Fact!! Another RL Greek Question We Got!

Question: What is a "pearl"?

Answer: Traditionally, a pearl is one of the first members of a greek organization. Typically, a pearl can be a one of the principle founders or brought on a little later BEFORE the first official "Rush". Pearls help develop the basics of an organization.

Follow-Up: Are pearls and founders equal?

Answer: Absolutely! In REAL greekdom, a pearl IS a founder. Though they may not be awarded credit as a "Principle Foundress", they have all rights and responsibilities to the organization BECAUSE they have helped lay the stones of the foundation. Pearls are treated with as much respect as a "principle" founder and their is no differential terms used. Pearls and Founders are one in the same. To insult a pearl is to insult the very fundamental principles of your sorority.

Here is a follow up example: Mary Lou is awarded the principle founder of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. BUT altogether their are 7 pearls! Hence the term Mary Lou and the crew!

ISig practices a strictly democratic process of majority vote! We are very happy with the outcome of the results! Please join us in congratulating these wonderful women!

Some may ask... why announce the results and the votes! We practice an open door policy. We are very transparent in everything we do because it's keeps everything honest. We are very happy to welcome all interested ladies to come by, see us, sit in on one of our informal meetings and experience the difference in Greekdom.

What's ISigRho Up To?

What is ISigRho Up to?! We are so glad you asked! During our reactivation campaign we wanted to completely re-organize the system! The first thing we did was combine our organization and re-dedicate our looks to service and the passion we have behind it! From that; Our Foundress Lovely Quintessa aka Soror Rhoyally Coveted created the new crest:

This gave us a reminder of our focus and we couldn't be prouder of the amazing masterpiece! The next thing was to adopt policies that were welcoming and fair by extending a hand of welcome to all past members of ISigRho and P.O.S.H! We are very proud to have you all active!

We also adopted several governing policies that gave each member 1 vote. This "no weight" policy allowed every member regardless of their leadership role, including the foundress's, 1 singular vote. Majority vote rules with parliamentarian procedures.

Next, we launched a Planning & Preparation Campaign with our RUSH season in mind! Details of that are posted on our website and will be up for public viewing next week!

Finally, publically, we announced our reactivation and created new technology to share it with the masses!

Welcome to the Reactivation of Iota Sigma Rho Sorority & P.O.S.H Sorority!

It's been a looooong time coming and we want to share this journey! But first, the first 3 post will cover; our herstory, what's coming up in ISig and information on our upcoming rush! So bare with us as we try to update everyone :)


Herstory,

Founded by: Saivee Rho-Amor on July 22, 2012 & Re-Founded by Luvly Quintessa on July 22, 2013 who saw a need to unite those who share the same spirit. Women of integrity and loyalty bonded in a sisterhood birthed in love. Independent women who now set their own paths.

The Promise,

The purpose of this sisterhood is to bind women together in love, loyalty, friendship and charity who seek to surround themselves with others who share a passion of sisterhood, learning and service. To positively impact our communities on and off the grid.. one act, one person, one good deed at a time. We will be women of upstanding character by striving to promote morals of giving and friendship and be a beacon of light and love. To each soror may we play a part of a TRUE sister. 

In conclusion, 

This organization has seen many faces! With this reactivation, Founder, Lovely Quintessa, of P.O.SH (2009) joins Iota Sigma Rho(2012) Founder, Saivee Rho-Amor. The system has been revamped and two women with a love of sisterhood get back to their roots. The sisters of Iota Sigma Rho couldn't be prouder of the reactivated efforts of many of our past members!
